Fighter's Devlog 5

Hello all!

This marks 25D_Fit's fifth devlog! Thanks for dropping on by. Let's get things started!

We have had quite a few moving parts in May's update. We'll start first with the new character models! We currently have models for Barrett, Adman, and Norris!

As a reminder, Barrett's model was made by Brandon K., while we commissioned  Adman and Norris's models separately.

We're looking forward to implementing new animations, facial expressions, and more to really set the aesthetic of the game. What will June bring, I wonder? 👀

We also have some new concept art coming along for future characters by the talented Gabriel Nascimento. Meet Koushik and Julia, two members of the "Blood Lines" gang!

Needless to say, more characters are on the way.

Our writer, Uplinked has also done some amazing work so far with the story script. We're taking care to make sure the characters feel full and their interactions, satisfying. For all the story buffs out there, there's a lot to look forward to!

And remember that Closed Alpha from last month? Thanks to the feedback from it, we're crushing not only the lot of bugs, but also are adjusting the game's design.

So far, we've added visual queues for when characters are invincible or armored as well as additional prototype visual effects for super attacks and Break mode.

We're also trying out colored outlines around characters when there are more than two players to cut back on that chaotic multiplayer confusion.

Going forward, air options, combo potential, end lag, attack cancels, movesets, and more are going to be adjusted. Thanks again to those who provided feedback and I hope we can get some more in the future when the next version drops!

Aaaand that's that for now. Next month we'll have even more updates and exciting things in the works. If you haven't already, feel free to join in this wild ride on Discord, Twitter, Instagram, Twitch, and YouTube!

Thanks for reading and see you in the next month!
